I have recently learned about a new boom about to hit Pittsburgh.  MovieMaker magazine recently bumped Pittsburgh into the big leagues, naming us one of the top 10 big cities for filmmaking.  We will be known as Hollywood on the Mon.   A $15 MILLION, 60,000-SQUARE-FOOT sound stage is being built In the shadow of the historical Carrie Furnace complex.

I learned of all of this when I meet Actor Lee Q Murray.  A transplant from LA who came to Pittsburgh with some of his friends to act in tv and movies in The Burgh.
He was in need of a new actor headshot for some talent agents in town.  I thought he was nuts at first.  Move to Pittsburgh to be in tv and movies?  But after I started reading more about what’s going on.  It made sense, get ahead of the game!  With shows like American rust and Mayor of Kingstown being filmed here we decided to go for a more darker headshot.
Film Noir being our inspiration.  It was a fun shoot exploring one of my favorite genres.  I hope he makes it big in the Steel City!
